Let it be water.

No one tells you that tiny beads of sadness will roll from your heart when it is finally able to unthaw. When it lets out the sigh it’s been holding because it wasn’t sure it would ever get to pull air into its lungs again. Maybe the melancholy comes from mourning all the years you guarded it as if its life depended on it, in many ways it did. Instinctively you will try to set anything that reaches for it ablaze. Hold the flames. There is no need to scorch things just to stay safe. Survival was yesterday. We are past that now, today it is time to let it live. If you must grab something let it be water. Quinch its thirst with all the love it has to give.
