  • Dental dissociation

A few weeks ago, after putting off mouth pain way to long I went in to see the dentist. Broken molar, got infected, and needed to be removed. After X-rays the dentists put in a referral to oral surgery and started an antibiotic. I needed at least 3 doses of antibiotics before they could attempt removal and was instructed to call the surgeon first thing Monday morning.

FFFFFF that. I got the three doses in and called the office Saturday morning.... I wasn’t interested in oral surgery. It hurt and I had a life to live (I also was not interested in paying a few grand for the anesthesia). After some convincing the on call agreed to take it out, he was more nervous than I was. He emotionally prepped me for the pain of childbirth. I looked at him and said "I am going to put this ear bud in and dissociate. I’m turning the volume up and listening to my audiobook, just do whatever you need to do." He wildly underestimated my dissociation skills. They planned for it to take 30 minutes - he was done in less than 10. I didn’t flinch move jump or react in anyway and I think this may have frightened him a bit. We swapped notes on his technique and mine. Thanks Doc.

I don’t want to talk about this today.

  • Knowing the consistency of liquid by its sound

Okay seriously I can not be that strange. Are you telling me you can’t tell the difference between the sound of Kool aide vs milk being poured? They sound nothing alike and if my friend hadn’t recorded the pouring of it three separate times during their voice notes maybe I wouldn’t have noticed it lol … They called me out for being able to tell they were on the 3rd glass of what I assumed to be red juice (it was mango tea I think) … I was giving them props on the hydration effort and they called me weird. Rude.

  • Thinking uncommon knowledge is common knowledge.

Think about that for a moment. Seriously. Realizing this is still mind blowing to me.
